The Triangle Shape of these cookies, make them a natural for the Christmas Holiday cookie trays. I drizzle the melted chocolate to resemble garland on the tree and the non-pareils represent the ornaments. I make these cookies all year round, as they are my familys' favorite. I just omit the colored non-pareil decorations.½ cup(1 stick) Butter
½ cup powdered (confectionary) sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup finely chopped, Praline Pecans
Topping: ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Tablespoon butter
Holiday non-pareils(optional)
: Heat oven 350F. In a large bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and blend in. Mix in flour and pecans until well blended. Divide dough in half and make two balls of dough. On an ungreasesd cookie sheet (at least 14 1/2”x11”) flatten each ball of dough, pressing into a 7” circle with an allowance of 1” between each circle of dough. Bake at 350 for approximately 10-13 minutes or until lightly golden on edges. Remove from oven and with a sharp knife, cut across each circle six times to create 12 pie shaped cookies (see diagram below). Remove from cookie sheet and keep cool. Using your favorite method, melt chocolate chips and butter together and drizzle on individual cookies. Top with holiday non-pareils if desired.
Yield:24 cookies
